VATEC GAMES

Small games, seriously researched. Pixel art, plain language, and a great deal to read.

We make one thing at a time, and we look it up first

VATEC GAMES is the games arm of VATEC IT, a German IT company. It exists to build small games that take their setting seriously — where the goods, the places and the customs are the ones that were actually there, and the parts nobody can verify are the parts we invented on purpose.

That constraint is not decoration. It is what makes the decisions in the game feel like decisions: a trade route is interesting because the distances and the prices are real, not because a designer made them dramatic.

The games are built in Godot, shipped for Windows, and made to run on old laptops and handhelds as well as on a desktop. They contain no advertising, no in-app purchases and no analytics — you buy the thing, and the thing is the whole thing.

Every title ships with a colour-blind-safe palette, scalable text, remappable keys and full controller navigation, because a game that somebody cannot read is a game they cannot play.

The Göktürk: Caravan

A Silk Road caravan roguelite. The caravan is lost with the man leading it. The House keeps everything it learned. It is complete — not early access, and not a roadmap.

The Göktürk

CARAVAN

You lead a merchant House out of Ötüken, seat of the Türk khaganate, in the seventh century. Iron and felt go west. Silk, turquoise and Khotan jade come back — if the caravan does.

Two hundred written encounters, fifty trade goods and twelve cities with living markets. Paying off raiders works, and it works the second time too. By the third, the road has learned that this House pays.
